Why join

Design is entering a new era. Tools like Cursor, v0, and Lovable let designers move from idea to live site in hours. But many still hesitate ; afraid it’s too technical, or not “for designers.”

It’s not about learning to code; it’s about learning to ship. In this live session, you’ll see how simple and empowering the new workflow can be.

What you'll learn

What we'll do

I’ll walk through my own portfolio live:

You’ll see exactly how design, AI, and development fit together ; like watching over the shoulder of a designer who builds.

A story that started with a single line

“By August 1st this year, all product designers at Intercom were required to ship design.”

That line, casually mentioned by Des Traynor (Intercom) in conversation with John Collison (Stripe) on The Cheeky Pint Podcast, changed how I see design forever.

It wasn’t an announcement. It was a sign of what’s already happening.

Soon, designers will connect Claude, Codex, or Cursor to the codebase, tweak spacing from 24px to 16px, and ship directly to production.

What used to be a full workflow; ticket, handoff, review, merge; will live inside the design team.

It’ll start small, but it’s already happening.

Designers, get ready to ship.

Who this session is for

No prior coding knowledge needed ; every step will be explained in plain language.

About the host

Jan and son down hill biking

Hi, I’m Jan — a product designer turned builder from Kristiansand, Norway.

I started my career back in 1996, making a fansite for The Clash. It wasn’t about the band; it was about the spark. That feeling of creating something others could interact with has driven me ever since.

Over the years, I’ve worked with leading tech companies and startups, co-founded and exited a design studio called Folk, and led UX work for Equinor through Webstep.

Alongside client work, I built Case Study Club, a community that helps designers grow their careers and tell better stories. What started as a small newsletter is now trusted by more than 40,000 designers around the world.

Today, I focus fully on building my own products ; tools like SoGood.fyi and Case Study Club ; exploring how design, code, and AI can work together to create better creative tools.

At the core, my motivation hasn’t changed since that first fansite in ’96: make things people can interact with, and learn by building.
